Hey Loves,
For my first post, I thought I’d give you a chance to get to know me a bit better, so I’m doing the “Get to Know Me” tag. I’ve picked 25 questions that I think best reflect me, and I hope it gives you guys a better insight into my life.
1. What is your ethnicity?
I was born in Canada, but my parents and family background is from Trinidad & Tobago.
2. What is your middle name?
I actually have 2 middle names – Linda and Brittney.
3. How tall are you?
I am a petite girl, standing at only 5’4”.
4. Are you single or in a relationship?
I am engaged, getting married this October!
5. What is your job/career?
I am a scientist, and actually just graduated from my PhD in Molecular Science.
6. Do you have any siblings?
Yes, I have one sister who is 2 and a half years older than me.
7. Favourite childhood memory?
One of my favourite childhood memories is every winter, during the first heavy snowfall of the year my dad and I would go for a walk in the snow. I loved seeing the fresh snow sparkling in the moonlight, it always seemed so magical to me.
8. What is your favourite colour?
Fuchsia is my favourite colour, although bright green and red are also pretty high up on my list.
9. What is your favourite song at the moment?
Its so hard to choose just one favourite. I am obsessed with anything by The Weeknd and Adele, but if I had to choose only one song at the moment it would be The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk – I Feel It Coming.
10. What is your favourite holiday?
Christmas hands down. I especially love cuddling up with a blanket, hot chocolate, and watching holiday movies every night leading up to Christmas.
11. What is your favourite book?
This is a tie between books from complete opposite genres. First, I’ve been obsessed with all things Harry Potter since I was in grade 4 and my teacher read us the first book. J.K. Rowling is hands down one of my favourite writers of all time. Second, anything by Nicholas Sparks. I am such a sucker for a good love story, and he writes the ultimate love stories that tug at my heartstrings.
12. What is your favourite restaurant?
I don’t think I can pick just one – if you know me well, then you know that I love all foods. But if I had to pick my top 2, then right now I would say Turtle Jacks (gotta love that blackened chicken) and Scaddabush (their fresh mozzarella hits the spot every time).
13. What is your favourite store?
My favourite store to shop at is Dynamite.
14. How would you describe your fashion sense?
My fashion style is constantly changing, and I would say I’m pretty diverse but still pretty simple. It’s really a day-to-day thing with me where some days I’m into the fitness look and live in running shoes, leggings, and a t-shirt, whereas other days I feel like looking really put together and am all about looking a bit more glam.
15. Tea or coffee?
Tea hands down. I am not a coffee person by any means.
16. Cats or dogs?
Neither – I am not at all an animal person.
17. Do you have any pets?
Yes, I have fish and a quaker parrot.
18. PC or mac?
Mac. I switched over to a Mac 2 years ago and would never go back to a PC now.
19. What type of phone do you have?
I currently have an Android, although I previously had an iPhone and now regret my choice to switch. I will definitely be making the switch back to an iPhone in the future.
20. Have you been out of the country?
I live in Canada, and yes I have been to different states in the U.S. multiple times and also travel to Trinidad almost every year.
21. What country would you love to visit?
It’s so hard to pick just one, since I really want to travel all over the world. Definitely at the top of my list right now is visiting Europe, especially France, Italy, Spain, and the UK.
22. What is one of your weird habits?
One of my weird habits is that when I am out shopping, I never take the first item on the rack/shelf. I always take one from the back unless there are no more. I’m definitely a germ-o-phobe, so I hate the idea that so many other people have touched and/or tried on the item that I’m purchasing.
23. What sports do you play/have you played?
I am not a sports person; I have never played on a team. But I do enjoy occasionally playing basketball and I would say I’m pretty decent at it.
24. Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?
My favourites are Jaclyn Hill, Kathleen Lights, Rosita Applebum, Jessi Smiles and Ylette.
25. What’s your idea of an ideal first date?
I’m a pretty low-key person so I don’t care much for an extravagant first date. Instead, I want to do something simple like dinner and just hang out afterwards so that I get a chance to really talk to you and get to know you.
