In today’s post I’m talking all about my skin care routine. I’ve spent YEARS trying a ton of different products in order to find exactly what works for me, and I am happy to say that I think I’ve finally found my golden combination of products!

It’s sooooo extremely important to take care of our skin, because it’s our LARGEST organ which means it’s kind of a big deal. Know what I’m saying? What’s even more important though is that you figure out what works for YOUR specific skin type. Everyone’s skin is different (some are oily, some are dry, and some like me are a mix of both!), so it’s important to figure out your own unique combination of products that work for you.

Before I start going through all of the products that I use, let me start by describing my skin type. I always thought I had oily skin, until I went to a dermatologist and she told me that I actually had REALLY DRY skin! Apparently, when your skin is super dry it compensates by over-producing oils which creates the appearance of oily skin. Guys, this whole time I was using products for oily skin which meant they were drying my skin out even MORE and just making my skin worse! SO, the lesson here is to not assume what skin type you have and get a professional to check it out for you! It doesn’t even have to cost you anything, a lot of stores that sell skincare products have someone on site who is skilled in looking at your skin type.

You’ll notice very quickly that A LOT of products in this list are Young Living (YL) products, meaning they are all-natural, plant-based and essential oil-infused. Umm yes please!!! Soo many skincare products are FILLED with toxins and chemicals that do us more harm in the long run than good. I don’t want any of that on my skin or in my body, so I choose to go with all-natural products. And YL has some of the best skincare products that I’ve ever used!

OK, let’s get down to the products I use!

… Let’s start with my Morning Skincare Routine …

Young Living Orange Blossom Facial Wash

I use this every morning to cleanse my skin because it’s SUPER gentle on my face, it doesn’t strip my natural oils, and it contains essential oils that promote soft, smooth skin and improved elasticity.

Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum + Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum

I love using a small pump of both of these to give my skin its daily dose of Vitamins B & C, a ton of antioxidants, and an extra boost of hydration. I put a drop of each in my hand, mix them together and apply to my entire face.

Young Living Orange Blossom Moisturizer

This moisturizer makes my skin soo SOFT, and leaves a natural looking matte finish which is the perfect base for my daily makeup routine. It’s such a good moisturizer and it improves the appearance of skin without irritation from harsh chemicals.

Spot Treatment Roller – Lavender, Patchouli, Frankincense, Tea Tree

OK guys, I absolutely LOVE this roller that I made for spot treating breakouts. I mixed 10 drops each of Lavender, Patchouli, Frankincense, and Tea Tree essential oils from YL in a 5mL roller and topped it up with carrier oil. I use this every morning to spot treat whenever I notice any texture or breakouts appearing on my skin, and I swear to you they disappear by the end of the day! It is so amazinggg and leaves me with silky smooth skin!

… Now my Nighttime Skincare Routine …

Young Living Mint Satin Facial Scrub

This! This is a naturally derived exfoliator that lifts and removes dry, dead skin cells. It is sooo gentle that I can use it every day after removing my makeup to give me a clean, smooth slate before heading to bed. You guys, seriously this leaves my face as smooth as a baby’s bottom!

Young Living Frankincense Essential Oil

My good man Frank! Frankincense is such a multi-use oil, but one of it’s most amazing uses is in beauty routines and specifically in skin care! It smoothens the appearance of healthy skin (totally amazing for wrinkles!) and maintains the appearance of radiant skin. I use this undiluted on my face every night and my face literally glows.

Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum + Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil

This duo is so dreamy because it works while you sleep to refine skin texture and tone while hydrating and nourishing your skin. I absolutely love this combo because it doesn’t leave any greasy residue and makes my skin look so healthy!

Nuvsio Mineral Enriched Balm Concentrate

This product is so awesome. It contains a blend of ancient minerals that repair the skin from within, blurring fine lines and supporting cell renewal. It also forms a protective barrier to help protect your skin’s natural microbiome and reduce inflammation. I use this on my skin about 2-3 nights a week instead of the Drunk Elephant duo above, and apply the Frankincense oil overtop.

Young Living Acne Treatment

This acne treatment works wonders! Whenever I notice a particularly large or sensitive breakout coming on, I spot treat it with a little layer of this and leave it overnight to do its thing. It takes about 2 days to fully dry out, but in the meantime it shrinks in size dramatically and never progresses to a full blown breakout.

… And finally, my exfoliants and masks …

Nuvsio Purifying Mineral Mask

This product is so awesome. I use it twice a week as a deep detox treatment and to help heal skin texture and protect the skin’s natural barrier function. After a month of using this I noticed my skin getting brighter, smoother, and so much more balanced!

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment

I’ve been obsessed with this ever since I got it in my Fab Fit Fun box earlier this year. I use it once a week to deep clean clogged pores, because makeup gets stuck in there! It makes my skin super smooth and bright and I love it!

OK guys, there you have it – my tried and true skincare routine. I am SOOO happy that I finally perfected this routine for my skin, because it has been a mission to find products that make my skin look it’s absolute best.
