HI! I’m Tracy, writer of Sweat.Slay.Shine.
I’m a 29-year old newlywed (sort-of) from Toronto, Canada with a passion for LIFE. When I was 13 years old, my dad was diagnosed with cancer and that experience completely changed my life. Although it was (and still is) one of the hardest journeys I’ve been through in my life, it has taught me so much and has really shaped the person I am today. Because of those experiences, I learned to take control of my own life and work as hard as I needed to in order to achieve my dreams. I became passionate about working in the cancer field to hopefully one day help someone else who was suffering with cancer. I spent the last 10 years in university, completing both my Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Science degrees. I now work as a cancer researcher, and hope to one day make a difference in the lives of others.
Aside from science, I’m also a woman with a small obsession for all things beauty, wellness, and life in general! Lately I’ve also been really motivated to improve my quality of life, whether that be physical goals such as fitness or personal goals such as achieving a healthy frame of mind. I’ve realized just how important personal wellness is, and how huge of an impact our lifestyles can have on our personal growth and well-being. Starting a blog has been an interest of mine for the last few years, and now that I’m starting a new chapter in my life post-university and post-marriage, I’ve finally made the step towards developing my blog as a creative outlet, and to take you all along on my journey towards a better and happier me!
The focus of this blog will be lifestyle and personal wellness, while also sharing a little bit of my beauty faves. While I by no means claim to be an expert in any of these areas, I am extremely excited to share my knowledge with you as I continue to gain new insight and grow into the best version of myself!
I hope you enjoy all of the posts, challenges, and giveaways. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter so you can have all of the latest happenings delivered straight to your inbox!
